I think we were all there. Glued to our TV as we watched Poh in the semi finals of Masterchef and cheering for her. Fast forward 6 years later and you see her open Jam Face in the Adelaide Central Markets. For the early wakers you would have seen her popping around at the Adelaide Farmers’ Market and Market Shed but now with a brick and mortar store we’ll be able to find her delicious treats in one place.
One of the pastries I’ve been wanting to try for a long time was the Milly FIlly – just look at this beauty! Thick layers of crispy puff pastry that was perfection – crunchy, flakey with a hint of burnt that added a complexity to the flavour. Topped with a swirl of cream and two layers of creme patisserie, it was something that not only looked beautiful but tasted delicious.

D had the lemon syrup cake with mascarpone which had one of the fluffiest and light yet moist cake that I’ve ever eaten. It had a really refreshing taste with light lemon flavour that reminded me of the lemon cheesecakes I used to get at Woolies as a kid.

This would make a lovely pit stop on your Central Market shopping where it’s not really a place to linger but more one to rest up before heading back out there. It’s a really cute store that is beautifully decorated that you can’t helped but be charmed. Tasty desserts with a beautiful layout – you’ve done a great job Poh :)
