Osteria Oggi, Adelaide

A new Italian restaurant in town and it’s making a splash in Adelaide. It’s kinda not surprising as Osteria Oggi is from the minds behind Press, Bread & Bone, Maybe Mae and Proof. Can they do no wrong ;) ?

Osteria Oggi Adelaide Gnocchetti

Gnocchetti – broccoli, anchovy, chilli, toasted pine nuts ($26)

The campanelle was ah-mazing. Flavour filled light oil with a chilli kick tied the whole thing together. It coated the al dente pasta with bites of pork sausage and spinach. It’s a bit on the salty side but that could be because of my Asian taste buds as we rarely use salt.

This tiramisu affogato would have been a good dessert if it didn’t melt into a puddle in a few minutes. It was 40 degrees the day I went and I do suspect the dessert was left out for a bit before it was brought to me (already dripping like crazy once set onto the table). The flavours were all there but in the end it was just melted icecream so maybe get this on a day that isn’t hot.

Tiramisu Affogato ($16)

E’s dessert looked soooo pretty with it decorated in dehydrated fruit. I got a bite from her panna cotta and it was silky smooth with that much wanted jiggled. I’m really liking the idea of pairing it with dehydrated fruits as it is quirky but works perfectly.

My pasta was really really good and I would come back to try more of what they offered. The atmosphere of the place is quite nice with a casual classy feel – great for that work lunch for all you guys working in the CBD :D
