D and I came to visit here twice for a catch up – the first time we were eyeing all the food coming out of the kitchen and would stop mid conservation to check out the lunch coming out. This review is from our two visits :)
I chose the Market St sandwich which had two large slices of white buttered bread which were super crunchy. The chicken was juicy and tender and the bacon was actually crispy (I LOVE my bacon crispy). Topped with gooey cheese and finished with fresh lettuce and tomatoes – it was a good sandwich and I couldn’t fault anything on it. Sadly they were served with a side of chips which were not very crispy and kinda average.

The castel looked gorgeous with it’s layers of hazelnut buttercream and pastry. I think this has been left out for a while as there really was no difference between the pastry and cream in terms of texture. The flavours itself tasted nice with a good layer of icing sugar on top. Roasted hazelnuts decorated on top added a lovely hazelnut punch.
D got the Fraise which I had gotten before at Dough and it still tastes as good as it looks – berries and cream, what’s not to love? :)
Lunch is nice with everything done well but my sandwich was a bit on the steep side. For the desserts, maybe next time I won’t come at 1:30 pm and try getting there a bit earlier to get fresher pastries as I may have gotten a dud one in the end.
