Out of 137 entries 12 finalists were chosen for the Eat Drink Blog 2013 photography competition and my fish photo was chosen – I am flattered and shocked. The photo will be blown up, printed and exhibited at the conference venue (Exhibition space at the Perth City Farm) which would be pretty cool to see. I wish I was going!
The Judge’s Award has already been decided but the Community Award is still up for grabs. If you would like to vote for my photo, please click HERE with voting closing on the 6th November 2013.
“Why are you even in Japan if you’re allergic to fish?” many friends have asked in disbelief.
Well, even stranger was how the hell did I end up in Tsukiji Fish Market in Tokyo – one of the largest fish market in the world. Blood and guts on a freezing cold winter’s morning at 5am where I feared for my life with little trucks whizzing past in all directions (I didn’t inherit the Asian knack for pro J-walking). It wasn’t my idea of heaven but friends take you to unexpected places – I’m glad now in my warm room that I went as this is one of my favourite photos I’ve ever taken.
Thank you for your support :)
