The Loose Caboose, Hindmarsh

Hello all, I’m finally back in the sweating heat of Adelaide! What better way to celebrate with brunch in 36 degree weather with my good friend L. To be very honest I am quite out of the loop with food places in Adelaide, luckily L really wanted to try this place out so what the hey. We ordered iced coffee, it was really cute how it came out in jars :)

The smashed avocado was a combination of runny poached egg, creamy avocado, roasted tomatoes, fresh bursts of corriander, all on crispy sour dough bread. It tasted alright but I felt it was a bit bland. A $16 meal should have filled me up but instead left me hungry – I actually went to get nachos from The Deli afterwards.

L got the Caboose Board, it’s not too different to the Smashed Avocado but it does have some have extra bits of mushroom and bacon.

I really have to applaud The Loose Caboose from turning down a rundown railway station into a cute, vintage restaurant. Being able to watch the trains pass by the window added to the rustic atmosphere. The place looks amazing but it is such a shame about the food.
